Long-term study finds low intraoperative complication rate with femtosecond LASIK This prospective study included 3,009 eyes that underwent LASIK, between 2002 and 2009, using the IntraLase femtosecond laser for flap creation. Only 11 eyes (0.37 percent) experienced complications during flap creation: eight cases of suction break, one of incomplete flap, and two of adherent flap. All complications were resolved during the same surgical session. All cases resulted in normal anticipated postoperative uncorrected and corrected visual acuities. No postoperative complications were experienced, and no subsequent re-treatments were required. Journal of Refractive Surgery, November 2010
